Rev. Dr. Jeff Crittenden

Co-Founder and Director

The Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Crittenden, B.A. (Laurentian); B.Th. (McGill); M.Div. (McGill); M.Th. (St. Stephens- University of Alberta); D.Min. (McCormick- University of Chicago); Ph.D (St. Mary’s) is an Assistant Professor of Homiletics at Huron University (London, Ontario), the Sr. Minister of Metropolitan United Church (London, Ontario), and the Founder and Director of the Centre for Practical Theology (Canada). Jeff loves participating in triathlons!

Rev. Dr. Brad Morrison

Co-Founder

Brad Morrison, D.Min. is co-founder of the Centre for Practical Theology. He is assistant professor of practical theology at Huron University College. He is an ordained minister serving Strathroy United Church. Brad is also a Registered Psychotherapist (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario), Registered Marriage and Family Therapist, and Clinical Fellow (American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy). Brad is author of Already Missional: Congregations as Community Partners. Brad’s teaching and research focuses on the practice of ministry, especially in congregations. His current interest is how liberal mainline congregations understand the practice of evangelism and new member recruitment.

Worship Leaders

Brent Jones is our Music Director for Worhsip Wednesday @ 7pm. Brent has studied and traveled extensively with over 30 years of experience in the creative and musical arts as a composer, performer, producer, engineer, session player, festival organizer, venue and production manager, writer and adviser. Jones has worked with Grammy, Juno and Emmy award winning engineers, producers and musicians in studios and on stages around the world – releasing 11 projects – contributing to hundreds of others and has published 7 books. Jones’s creative base is Quiet Earth – a 115 acre rural facility near London, Ontario – where Jones host concerts, events, and recording sessions – all within a natural and historic environment.

Paula Thomas leads music for the Inviting Circle for the Centre of Practical Theology. 

Paula, a soprano, began studying music in her hometown of St. Thomas, Ontario. In her youth, she performed throughout Southwestern Ontario with Brian May’s “Circle of Friends” Christian singing groups. She received a Bachelor of Music (Honours) from McMaster University and a Master of Music in Literature and Performance (Voice) from Western University. She has studied under the tutelage of Richard Cunningham, Lesley Andrew, and Torin Chiles.  In 2016, Paula traveled to Lucca, Italy to sing with the Accademia Europea dell’Opera performing the roles of La novizia and Suor Osmina in Puccini’s Suor Angelica. She currently performs as a soloist and ensemble member with various choirs including Chor Amica (London), Choral Connection (St. Thomas), and Arcady (Brantford). She was selected for Arcady’s Emerging Artist program in 2012, and continues to work as an event coordinator on staff. At Metropolitan United Church (London), Paula is a Choral Scholar in the senior choir, and the music leader at the Water’s Edge service. Most recently, she has joined the staff at Preschool of the Arts (London) leading preschool music programs and Family Tree Music classes. Paula enjoys providing music for weddings, and performing at retirement and long-term care facilities. She owns a growing music studio in St. Thomas, teaching voice, piano, and theory. 

Stephanie Code is a singer for the Centre for Practical Theology, Fairmont Campus.

Stephanie started her career in music from the young age of 6, performing for the first time at her local church. From there,  Stephanie pursued music before pivoting into Human Resources as her full-time gig. She currently sings mostly with Metropolitan United and the very occasional karaoke.
